Bosteels - Kwak - Belgian

The Amber ale that everyone recognises due to the distinctive glass and holder!
The story goes that in the region of Dendermonde, East Flanders there was an innkeeper called Pauwel Kwak who owned a coaching inn on the road from Mechelen to Ghent. His customers included horsemen who stopped to water their charges.
Kwak would hand them an amber ale that they could rest in their stirrup with a shape similar to a yard of ale, and so the legendary Kwak glass was born.
The beer itself has an earthy aroma fromthe addition of three different malts and white candied sugar added to the kettle.
The result is a full bodied amber ale with a licorice-like maltiness, nougat chewiness and a warm caramelised finish
