Sake

Journey into Japan’s rich cultural heritage with our Japanese Sake collection.

Our curated selection of premium Sake, Japan’s traditional rice wine, is renowned for its unique flavour profiles and cultural significance.

Whether you're a seasoned Sake enthusiast or new to this exquisite drink, our collection offers something for everyone. From crisp, dry Junmai to smooth, fragrant Daiginjo, we provide the finest Sake varieties sourced from Japan’s most respected breweries.

Sake, often referred to as Japanese rice wine, is a traditional alcoholic beverage made by fermenting polished rice. Unlike wine, which is made from fruit, or beer, which is brewed from grains, Sake is brewed using a unique process that converts rice starch into sugars, which are then fermented. This gives Sake its distinct flavour, which can range from sweet and fruity to dry and earthy.

Enjoyed hot or cold, Sake can be paired with a wide range of foods, from blue cheese, scallops, sushi, grilled meats, vegetables, and tomato-based pasta sauces. Its versatility and unique taste make it an excellent choice for those looking to explore something new. Get creative and try with all sorts of dishes.

You’ll find a diverse range of styles and flavours to suit any palate or occasion in our Sake collection, such as Junmai Sake, Ginjo Sake, Daiginjo Sake, and Nigori Sake.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Sake Made From?

Open tab

Sake is made from four main ingredients: rice, water, yeast, and koji mold. The rice used in Sake production is polished to remove the outer layers, and the koji mold helps convert the rice starches into fermentable sugars, which are then fermented by yeast to produce alcohol.
