Pale Ale
As the name purports, a pale hoppy beer brewed using pale malts with an alcoholic strength broadly sitting in the range of 4.5 - 6%. It covers a vast amount of beer produced so it’s hard to categorise succinctly. Historically an English Pale would undergo lighter hop additions than its American counterpart, with mellow citrus, herbal and potentially earthy notes featuring. A greater proportion of modern pales ales produced today are more likely to follow an American lead, delivering more pronounced hop profiles though not necessarily confined to American hops, with clean defined bitterness. Example: Deya ‘Steady Rolling Man’
