Le Roc - Folle Noire d'Ambat Rouge
Domaine Le Roc is found in the Fronton region of South-Western France, working responsibly and environmentally friendly. They have converted to organic farming in the last three years and remain the front-runners of winemakers in the Fronton area.
They use 100% Negrette, a scarcely grown grape which produces floral and fruity flavours with a dark, punchy pepperiness. This has plenty of black cherry and Damson plum mingling with a hint of violet poking through. This has a soft mouthfeel, and there is a certain rustic element to it reminiscent of the French countryside! Even though you get plenty of dark fruit flavours the mouthfeel is refreshingly light and the tannins are soft and supple.
