This exquisiste whisky comes from the renowned Caol Ila distillery, situated on the north-east coast of the Islay peninsula. The distillery has a rich history, having been established in 1846 by Hector Henderson, a Glasgow entrepreneur.
Caol Ila is famous for its signature smoky, peaty flavour profile - and this is no different. This is aged for a minimum of 13 years in oak casks which mellows and rounds out that smoke and peat somewhat. There is a delicate hint of sea-salt, mocha and citrus fruit which is followed by the smoke and peat, vanilla and honey. The finish is warming - this is good stuff!
