This lovely Mezcal Amores Joven is a premium quality spirit that represents the essence of traditional Mexican mezcal. This wonderful spirit is made using hand selected Espadin agave harvested from the Oaxaca region in Mexico. It is known for its rich and smoky flavour and especially for the smooth finish.
The agaves are first cooked in an underground conical pit oven, which gives over the smoked flavour. These cooked agaves are then crushed using a stone mill and then fermented using naturally occuring yeast. The liquid is then double-distilled in traditional copper-pot stills before being aged in oak barrels for a few months depending on the style but it rounds out, refines and balances the final mezcal.
