Domaine de Beaumalric's Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is a sweet, fortified Muscat wine from the village of Beaumes-de-Venise in France's Rhône Valley. It is created with Muscat Blanc à Petit Grains and Muscat Noir grapes. The wine has a wonderful balance of sweetness and acidity, with flavours of spices, candied fruits, pineapple, nectarine, and citrus fruits on the finish.
The grapes are selected in multiple passes to ensure ideal ripeness and made using the traditional mutage method, resulting in a vin doux naturel with a high residual sugar level. The vineyards at Beaumes-de-Venise benefit from exceptional sun exposure, which contributes to the phenolic ripeness of the grapes. When young, the wine is pale gold in colour and acquires stronger flavours of honey, dried apricot, and raisins with age.
