Douro
The Douro is home to most Fortified Port winemaking, however their still unfortified red wines are widely popular and made throughout the region. It is the largest winemaking region in Portugal, and many of the native grapes used for Port production are used in unfortified red winemaking giving ripe, black fruit flavours, high acidity and a medium body. Some white wines are produced here also, usually light, floral and fresh.
