Triangle Wines - Calco Pinot Noir 2021
Calco Wines are a collaboration between Triangle Wines and the De Martino family based in the Limari Valley of Chile. The cool Pacific influence of this area are particularly good for growing more typical old world varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - both varieties being early budding and ripening and therefore more suited to a cooler climate and a lengthier ripening period. Using a 'lutte raisonee' approach to farming, these wines are made using minimal chemical intervention unless absolutely necessary.
This Pinot Noir intermingles savoury and fruity characteristics in a way that truly great Pinot Noir can - supple and bright red fruit flavours of strawberry and cherry are complimented by the distinctive earthiness and forest floor notes. The body is light and zippy with well integrated, fine-grained tannins.
