The beer is pale gold. Aroma is heady, sweet and fruit cocktail. It starts with more of a honeyed sweetness than the usual malt character than we get in our house IPAs, but then has also a drier finish. It has direction. The sweetness of the body pushes the hops through as pineapple, all tropicaland luscious. The beer feels a touch less of the west coast than the Elusive and Burning Sky versions, a little more transatlantic in its manifestation. Less lean and elegant, a bit bigger and brasher. But a firm bitterness to end returns it towards the west coast wheelhouse, pithy grapefruit lifts it to a familiar finish.
