We've had more people of late expressing an interest in this style of wine, so this week we added more options to the range.
What is a Pet Nat wine?
A Pet Nat is simply a naturally sparkling wine. The wine is bottled before the finish of the first fermentation. The fermentation completes in the bottle, sometimes producing a cloudy wine with sediment and a light fizz - less than a Champagne. The original term for this method of production is known as Méthode Ancestrale.
We think these are wines are perfect for summer drinking. Subtly fruit led - think fresh citrus, raspberry, summer fruits - and sometimes with light savoury and autolytic (bready / brioche) notes.
They are relatively low in alcohol, quite often organic and low in sulfites too.
A Pet Nat will more often than not be bottled under crown cap. An easy way to spot one.
