The word Brandy is Dutch in origin and means "burned wine". It comes from the 16th century when merchants would distill wine and store the contents in oak barrels to transport it long distances by sea.
The Torres family began as winemakers as far back as 1870. They began to make brandy in the 1920's using the white wines of Penedes (Barcelona) and very soon developed a reputation for exlempary quality.
Torres 20 is a multiple award-winning brandy and has often won the award for the best brandy in the world.
