Situated on the Kintyre penninsular in western Scotland, Springbank distillery is still family owned and one of the last three surviving distilleries in Campbeltown still producing single malts.
Springbank produces three distinctly different style of whisky - each iteration is tweaked by changing the production process slightly, and the range encompasses both peated and non-peated styles of whisky under three brands, Springbank, Longhorn and Hazelburn. It is the Sringbank that is the most popular of these three styles.
Interestingly, Springbank is the only Scottish distillery to keep 100% of the whisky making process in-house for 100% of their whisky. This involves maintanence of their traditional malting floor - for the distillate in every single cask whisky made there.
The Springbank 10 is a fabulous 10 year old malt and the perfect introduction to the Springbank range. It has been matured in both bourbon and sherry casks and it is perfectly balanced. The palate offers malty, oaky spice and finishes sweet with a salty tang that typifys a Campbeltown whisky.
