The release is the fruit of a collaboration between Ben Howkins, Director of The Last Drop Distillers and a well-respected authority on Port, and Cristiano van Zeller, a descendant of one of the oldest Port families in the Douro. These two Tawny Ports were produced from the same vineyards, but 100 years apart - they are respectively 48 and 148 years old. The 1870 Port is pre-phylloxera. The 1870 was awarded 19 points by Jancis Robinson and 97 by Neal Martin. The 1970 was awarded 17.5 by Jancis and 93 by Neal.
