This wonderful (but eye-wateringly expensive) African craft gin from Procera is distilled in Nairobi with 10 botanicals. They have all been sourced using African ingredients including Madagascan pink pepper and Moroccan orris root.
However, the most important botanical is a relatively unknown species of juniper; the Juniper Procera (most gins opt for the more common Juniper Communis), The Procera juniper only grows in the highlands of Kenya and Ethiopia. After distillation, the gin is bottled into the most wonderful hand-blown bottles and these are also produced in Nairobi.
