This incredible gin has been created Renato Giovanni. It is named after the town of Apóstoles, in the Argentine province of Misiones.
Apóstoles is home to the mate, a traditional Argentine drink made with the leaves of the yerba mate tree, a type of holly plant.
Yerba mate is usually made as an infusion with hot water and is similar to caffeine in that it is uplifting and buzzy. It is extremely popular in Argentina.
Renato wanted to produce a gin utilising the uplifting properties of the yerba mate and thus it is one of the principle botanicals. The other botanicals include: juniper berries, coriander seeds, peppermint, eucalyptus and pink grapefruit.
