Pineau des Charentes Blanc is a French aperitif made in the region of Charentes. It's popularity is rather localised and so it remains relatively unknown outside of this particular region of France - until now...
It is a fortified wine - made using fresh or lightly fermented grape juice which is then fortified with a brandy or eau de vie and then matured. This is a white Pineau - made using white grapes ugni blanc, folle blanche and colombard.
