Heinrich - Naked White 2020

Regular price £19.50

Naked White – this is a natural white blend that we were so impressed by we just had to get in and on our shelves when we tasted it. It's delicious.

The grapes are sourced from vineyards on both sides of Lake Neusidel. Fun fact: Lake Neusiedl is the largest endorheic lake in Central Europe - basically water flows into but not out of the lake. Lake Neusiedl currently spans 315 square kilometres, sharing itself unequally between Austria and Hungary. At its deepest point, the lake is only 5’9” deep and so although superficial, Lake Neusiedl is large enough to create its own microclimate in which migratory birds and some of Austria’s best wine thrive.

So - back to the wine. The grapes, as we said are from both sides of this remarkable lake. The wine brings together the different sites, soils and varieites of the region.

It’s a mix of  Welschreisling,  Chardonnay, Neuburger, Muskat Ottonel, Grüner Veltliner, and last but not least - Weissburgunder.

It has been fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit character, then aged 10 months on it’s lees.

Aromatic with subtle skin tannin, peach, cream & zest. Flavours of apple, hay, soft pear, ripe lemon on the palate.
