This is a brilliant example of a Moscato d'asti wine. The lower ABV of 5% for this wine is caused during the winemaking, by a process in which the temperature is raised which allows the natural sugars in the grape juice to ferment and turn into alcohol. The temperature is lowered when the ABV reaches 5%, this has the effect of keeping the wine sweet and effervescent. The delicate carbonation, bold fruity flavours and strong minerality make this a delicious and refreshing wine. It is excellent as an aperitif and pairs well with desserts particularly Panettone.
