Little Pomona - Art of Darkness 2019
It's amazing at how tannic cider apple varieties can emerge from barrel, after such an extended time as this cider has had; all bright & perfumed & full of fruit. A golden yellow liquid it's pristine with honeyed apricot & tarte tatin vibes, perfumed like incense & warmly spicy. There’s plenty of ripe tannins here too, giving it wonderful structure & real depth of flavour.
Ellis Bitter 67% from Little Pomona's Home Orchard; Ashton Bitter 33% from Broome Farm, Herefordshire. A beautiful match with blue cheese – Stichelton would be just perfect. Has an almost wine-like texture, so also white meats & fish with herb sauces, or spring vegetable casserole.
