Manuel Cantalapiedra who grows Verdejo in the Castilla y Leon area of Rueda, Spain, and is considered somewhat a rebel in his techniques - harvesting later and using organic practises the emphasis is all on the quality of wine produced.
The Lirondo is an orange wine that is unfined and unflitered so it is quite hazy in appearance. It is kept in contact with the lees for 8 months adding further depth of flavour and texture and providing aromas of brioche and baked goods. There is a good balance of acidity and a mineral quality to the flavour.
