This 16 Year Old whisky is from Campbeltown in Scotland. The Glengyle distillery was founded in 1872 by the previous owner of the Springbank distilllery, William Mitchell. Over the years distillery has changed hands, gone into liquidation, sold off equipment and ultimately stopped producing. However it was revived in 2004 by - once again co-incidentally the previous owner of Springbank. This 16 year old is the very oldest whisky released from Kilkerran so far but they have big plans. We're looking forward to more releases already.
Matured in both bourbon and madeira casks and is now the oldest released whisky from the Kilkerran range. It has a lightness and freshness but with a gentle smoky note, and balanced spice.
Bottle Size: 70cl
