Andreas Tscheppe from the Styria region of Austria makes exceptionally good natural wines from white grape varieties. This is a Sauvignon Blanc, hand harvested and then pressed into 25 year old large oak barrels. It undergoes a natural fermentation and then rests in barrel for a further 18 months.
The vineyards are terraced and full of wildlife such as butterflies, dragonflies and beetles which are visualised on his wine labels.
This is more intense than its Blue counterpart. Fairly full bodied and bursting with mineral and herbs
