Elisa's Dream - Tannat - Canelones - Uraguay
Only 150 cases of this wine has been produced and we have been lucky enough to get our hands on a few bottles. Gabriel, the winemaker at Vina Progreso, has taken his experience that he gained working various harvests in the US, Chile and Europe, to produce wine inspired by Mas Doix in Priorat, Catalonia. Everything from harvesting to fermentation is carried out by hand. Naturally fermented in open topped barrels followed by 6 months maturation in oak. Bottled unfiltered and unfixed this is a big beast of an inky in colour, smokey, meaty wine with intense black fruits and hints of spice.
Perfect with a rib of beef.
