Delas Freres was founded in 1835 in the Rhone region by Phillipe Delas and Charles Audibert and since then has built a reputation for producing premium quality wines. There are 30 hectares of vines grown on the estate including 10 in the world famous Hermitage Hill.
Working organically since 2013 (but not certified), the most recent vintages have caught press attention for their complexity and intense flavour. The wines are rightly acclaimed as some of the best value and most refined in the entire region.
Condrieu is probably the northern Rhones' most distinctive wine appellation. It is a white wine made entirely with the viognier grape variety, a grape noted for its silky mouthfeel. Incidently, the name "condrieu" comes from a French phrase and translates as "corner of the stream" .
The 2017 from Delas is intense, clean and fresh with vibrant citrus blossom and zesty, ripe tangerine flavours in abundance. This is bold, charming and absolutely delightful. A wine for a very special occasion.
