Casa Castillo is situated in the sun drenched area of Jumilla, Northern Spain. This area, being blessed with chalky soils and cooling slopes, is perfect for growing the native Monastrell grape. Casa Castillo produces 3 single varietal wines and two single vineyard wines, all from native grapes that were replanted in 1985 by Jose María Vicente and his father - his grandfather had purchased the vineyard in 1941.
This red is made from 100% Monastrell grapes grown in the Mercia region of Northern Spain. It's a young wine with plenty of fresh, red fruits on the nose and touches of pepper on the palate.
