The House of Gabriel Boudier was founded in 1874 in Dijon, France, and became famous for creating the world renound Creme de Casis de Dijon. This is made by masceration of the fruits in alcohol.
Maison Boudier rediscovered the recipe for their Saffron Gin within their archives used their considerable expertise to recreate this once popular saffron gin. The result is the revival in popularity for this style of gin made by mascerating the precious saffron in gin, giving it the distinctive orange hue.
Made using 9 fresh botanicals, including juniper, coriander, lemon and orange peel, angelica seeds, iris and fennel seeds plus of course saffron - the resulting flavours have a sweet and delicate spiciness. Great with a straight tonic - no additonal citrus needed or it will overpower the delicate flavours. Best in a martini or simply on the rocks.
