Named after a pirate - a young boy grew up quite unremarkably in the west Wales village of Little Newcastle. He joined the navy on a royal naval ship as soon as he was able. When his ship was intercepted by pirates he became one himself and quickly developed a fearsome reputation for being the best pirate on the water, capturing over 400 ships during his career and credited with being the first pirate to create a flag his reputation was renound the world over and he was known as Black Bart or Barti Bdu.
This rum smells like christmas in a bottle - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and sweet, syrup-y aromas hit you in the face as soon as you take a sniff!
The 'secret' ingredient is Pembrokeshire seaweed - which they call a Welshman's caviar!
