The Arndorfers produce wine for pleasure and with pleasure. They pay close attention to the details, but ultimately believe that wine is for enjoyment, and not to be coveted or worshiped. It is nice to discuss wine, but in the end it is there to drink! The estate is run by Martin Arndorfer and Anna Stieninger, located in the Strass hills of Kamptal. Here they specialize in Riesling and Grüner Veltliner but also grow Chardonnay, Neuburger, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Zweigelt in an array of different soils.
The Arndorfer Strasser Weinberge is made from 100% Grüner Veltliner from three different vineyards in Strass. The wine is fermented and aged in a mix of 20% stainless steel and 80% large barrels, with the wood aging bringing a soft touch to the high levels of acidity found in the Grüner grape. The lees aging also gives the wine a sublte roundess and imparts a richness to the wine that balances beautifully with its mineral and green fruit flavors. Enjoy with seafood.
