Vermouth is a wine that has been "pimped" if you'll excuse the term, sometimes known as having been "Aromatised" with a huge vairety of herbs, spices, roots, flowers, seeds, spices and barks. It is then fortified with a distilled alcohol which helps to keep it open and drinkable for longer than a wine. The name Vermouth has its origins from the German word "wermut" which means wormwood.
Antica Formula Vermouth is made in Italy in Turin and is made using the recipe first concieved in 1786 at the Carpano wine shop in Turin. Today it is made at at the Fratelli Benedetto Carpano distillery.
A classic cocktail ingredient, it is loved throughout the world by serious cocktail makers and bar tenders in the very best establishments. Drink very cold with ice, an olive and a slice of lemon or use wherever the receipe calls for vermouth.
