This zesty grape has small pine cone shaped clusters – which may have been the origin behind the name and has graced the lists of the best wine bars for decades . Ranging in flavour from the zesty & fresh Italian style still so beloved, to the a rounder style in the new world iterations; it’s enduring popularity shows no sign of stopping soon and nor should it. There are serious efforts in Italy and around the world to upgrade the quality and reputation of wines made with this grape so if you haven’t tried it for a while, take a second look.
