Ata Rangi means “dawn sky” or “new beginning” It is a small vineyard in New Zealand with a huge reputation. The first vines were planted on the site of a stony sheep paddock by husband and wife Clive and Phyll Paton in 1980. Since then the wines produced here feature on the wine lists of some of the very best restaurants in the world.
Winemaker Helen Masters has developed a distinctive style in this Sauvignon blanc – its stone fruit and pear flavours are markedly different from the ubiquitous grassy style of many NZ sauvignon blancs. Try it with the classic pairing of goats cheese. It might just change your life....
