New Zealand

New Zealand has altered it’s reputation for making world class wines in the last forty years, largely due to the dominance of their single varietal Sauvignon Blanc. This variety, grown in most regions but most famously in Marlborough, revolutionized New Zealand’s wine game in the 1960’s and launched itself onto wine lists worldwide. Looking past the notorious Sauv Blanc, there are some other amazing varietals being produced which have gained their own reputation for quality in the last couple of decades - particularly Pinot Noir from Central Otago and Martinborough, and more elusive grapes such as Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Gris.
