Mas Coutelous - Classe 2020
Jean Francoise Coutelou (Jeff) runs the family vineyard in the Languedoc on the mediterranean coast in France. It has been certified organic since 1987 and he has been working in a biodynamic way for decades too. When he's not making phenomenal wine he is creating the perfect environment for his 20 hectares of vines to "live" in. The biodiversity within the vineyards has been made possible by the planting of thousands of trees, olives, almonds, figs as well as thousands of indigenous flowers, shrubs, and herbs. Unsurprisingly the wines are in extremely high demand - the careful attention to the health of the vines equals incredible quality. The wines are refreshing and easy drinking - we think they are exceptional.
The Classe 2020 is a blend of Syrah, Grencahe and Mourvedre, more heavily leaning towards Syrah. It has a bright acidity which balances out the intense red fruit flavours, and has some more developed aromas coming through of leather, cedar and a little pepper.
